RC10 2011 FALL LUNCHEON
September 22, 2011
The Ripe Tomato Restaurant

RC10 President, Dave Golden, presented Eleanor McCauley
a corsage and bouquet in honor of her 100th birthday.
Miss McCauley taught at Powers Elementary School in
Lansingburgh and then, for 37 years, at Loudonville Elementary
School in North Colonie. RC10 donated $100 to the Loudonville
School Library in her honor.



President Golden presented a NYSUT Retiree Council Founders
Certificate to Marea Reid-Roberts in recognition of her long
service to RC10 which started when she helped with its
formation 20 years ago in 1991.


Joseph Herman was also honored for his long service to
RC10 going back to its founding 20 years ago.
Harold and Eva Greene were presented certificates
in absentia as they were unable to attend
the luncheon.


RC10 2nd Vice-President, Ann Cherney, spoke about
the RC10 JOY BEAR PROJECT which will meet
OCTOBER 24, 2011, at the NYSUT CAPITAL
DISTRICT REGIONAL OFFICE. The project decorates
stuffed bears that are then donated to women's cancer
treatment centers.


The guest speaker was Dr. Donald Levy, Director of the
Siena College Research Institute, who discussed public opinion
research as it relates to elections. The presentation wa
very interesting and informative as Dr. Levy made
many references to information of special importance to
retirees and public service unions in New York State.
